Who are we ?

Pignon is, first and foremost,
two founders.

Laurent Lemaitre

Co-founder

An amateur cyclist for years and a passionate supporter of major tours like the Vuelta, the Giro, and the Tour de France, Laurent is always ready to climb the cols to watch his favorite riders pass by. He also enjoys smaller competitions, like taking a nap while watching the Tour du Limousin or the Critérium du Dauphiné. No matter the vacation destination, he absolutely must find a bike rental shop to embark on an adventure. And if he can tackle slopes over 15%, he’ll be even happier!

Similar to the Mbappé project, he started the Pogacar project with his two children, taking them on “cycling holidays” every summer. The challenge: cover 350 km in 3 days, with kids aged 8 and 10, on bikes without gears. Unfortunately, it didn’t have the desired effect. His daughter, sickened by the experience, hated cycling for years. His son, after initially being put off, eventually adopted his father’s passion. Today, he shares cycling adventures with him and trains him for ultra weekend projects in the Vosges.

On the professional side, Laurent began his career as a buyer and product manager in the field of decoration. Passionate about commerce and product development, he worked for 26 years in this sector, concluding his career as the Head of Purchasing for the French leader in the industry. For the past five years, he has created his own consulting company specializing in interior decoration and product development before embarking on the Pignon adventure with his daughter.

Zoé Lemaitre

Co-founder

Zoé, Laurent’s daughter, holds a degree in fashion design and pattern making from one of Paris’s top schools, the École de la Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne (now IFM). She later pursued training in management and product development at ESIV (La Fabrique). With these skills, she gained valuable experience in lifestyle sportswear design, working for three successful years in the field. She has in-depth knowledge of the market, technical textiles, and production factories in Europe.

Though she was put off by cycling during her childhood, Zoé began using a bike for her daily commute when she moved to the Paris region. It was then that she became aware of the many challenges cyclists face during their daily travels. After a major turning point in her life, she decided to take on a new professional challenge: entrepreneurship.

With the support of her father, she embarks on a mission to find a solution to the issues cyclists face in their daily commutes.

Values of the Pignon Brand

Style and trends

Pignon offers contemporary clothing and accessories that combine fashion and functionality. Our team, constantly keeping an eye on trends, designs pieces that are in line with the latest styles. The goal is for our customers to stay stylish both at the office and in the evening, without needing to change after their bike ride. At Pignon, the cyclist is the most stylish one in the office!

Performance and Technicality

Our clothing is not only stylish, but also highly functional. Thanks to the use of technical materials and advanced manufacturing processes, our products provide comfort and practicality for cyclists. To inform our customers, we have implemented technical icons that detail the specific features of each garment.

Quality and durability

Quality is a priority in the design of our collections. The majority of our products are made in Europe, with a strict sourcing process for materials to ensure their longevity. We select our suppliers based on their reliability and carefully oversee every production to ensure durable, high-quality products. At Pignon, quality is reflected in meticulous finishes, thoughtful design, and products that stand the test of time.

Security

Safety is a crucial aspect of cycling, especially for daily commutes. At Pignon, we incorporate safety features like visibility and reinforcements, ensuring they blend seamlessly with the product's design. Our goal is to provide stylish clothing that also effectively protects the cyclist. In the future, we plan to collaborate with specialized brands to offer stylish and innovative safety gear.

Transparency and ethics

Transparency is at the heart of Pignon's values. We want to not only reassure our customers but also raise awareness about more responsible consumption. Unlike fast fashion, we believe in ethical production with fair pricing. Our products are designed to last, and we clearly communicate to our customers that our margin is not pure profit, but a vital element for the sustainability of our company.

Pignon is about looking good, but above all, feeling good.

Our Partners

During our meetings with our partner factories, we ensure that they comply with European standards. Concerned about reducing our carbon footprint, the proximity to our partners also allows us to minimize transport time. This also ensures complete traceability throughout the process, from the sourcing of materials (fabrics and components) to production.

We ensure that the majority of our raw materials are certified Standard 100 by Oeko-Tex®. Our fabrics mainly come from Italy and are certified according to ISO 14001 standards. The production of our clothing takes place within 3,000 km of our warehouse. Around 20% of our products are made from recycled materials, and our suppliers are GOTS certified.
